The 2013-14 season has been a memorable one for the entire Missouri Mavericks hockey team who finished the regular season with a franchise best 44-20-2 record.
The same could be said for Forward Andrew Courtney who compiled 34 goals to lay claim to the Mavericks franchise single-season goal record. Now in his 4th season playing pro hockey and 3rd full season as a Maverick Courtney's game keeps getting better and better.
Courts as he is called by his teammates credits his fantastic season to a better understanding of the game, his coaches and playing alongside Sebastian Thinel and Eric Castonguay.
The 28 year old veteran grew up watching lots of soccer as his dad was a big soccer fan. Andrew admits his favorite team is Manchester United. Still rooting him on from home in Belleville, Ontario Canada is his mom, dad and a younger brother.
The right-hander first put on a pair of skates at just 3 years old. Courts favorite hockey memory so far is when he scored his first professional goal. If not in Pro hockey today Andrew would be having fun trying to be a pro golfer.
Andrew's biggest career goal is to live a healthy and exciting life. When on those long bus rides on CHL Road trips Courts like to spend time sleeping or with his iPad. Andrew's favorite movie is the Field of Dreams, he loves the fact it's about sports and enjoys just the way the movie is. Like many of his teammates Courts loves to cook and when he does his favorite is Pasta. When his career is over Andrew wishes to be remembered as a just a guy who came to work everyday and gave 100%.
Andy's favorite area of the Kansas City metro is the Country Club Plaza. When it's nice outside Courts enjoys visiting plaza restaurants and shopping. Now into the first round of the Central Hockey League Playoffs Andrew loves the atmosphere of the playoffs and the excitement the Mavericks fans provide the team.
