Known to have lightning speed and a rocket of a shot Missouri Mavericks Head Coach Scott Hillman was excited to add Forward Jeff Pierce to the team this season.
The 28 year old has only been a Maverick for two months but sees many familiar faces on game day. “Piercey” as he is called by his teammates played his first three CHL seasons in Odessa with fellow Maverick Sebastian Thinel.
Pierce is excited to be back playing CHL hockey as last season Pierce spent the year playing for the Cardiff Devils in a British league.
His favorite team is the Detroit Tigers which is no surprise as he loves all Detroit sports teams. The Troy, Michigan native still has a dad, mom and an older sister back home. His favorite hockey memory occurred while playing at Western Michigan University with current Maverick teammate Brian Bicek.
Western Michigan went to Michigan and beat the Wolverines in their own rink. If not in hockey Jeff would like to be a historian for the Smithsonian Institute. His career goal is to have a job that can support him and his family.
While on the Mavs bus Pierce likes to either sleep or talk on his phone. If a movie is made of his life Keanu Reeves would get the starring role.
When Jeff does cook he likes fish or grilled steak. At the end of his career he hopes to be remembered as a guy that worked hard. While new to the area Pierce has already found the Jazz Museum area of Kansas City to be a fun place to go.
Mavericks fans can see this new Maverick and the rest of the team when they host Quad Cities on Friday, November 30 at 7:05 p.m.
