Not even 20 games into his first season as a pro, forward Kellan Tochkin has made a quick impact on the Missouri Mavericks team. Just 21 years old this newcomer scored 8 points in his first 12 games as a Maverick.
The talented Right hander who hopes to play in the National Hockey League one day is for now is helping the Mavericks in their push to make the playoffs.
Toch as he is called by his new teammates is a big fan of the Vancouver Grizzlies an NBA team that has moved to Memphis, Tennessee.
Kellan became a fan while growing up in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Still at home are his two older brothers, his mom Sheridan and his dad Larry.
Tochkin’s favorite hockey memory so far is his time playing Junior hockey which he calls a wonderful experience. If not in hockey Kellan would be finishing his degree in English and teaching somewhere.
While on the Mavs bus he watches a lot of TV shows on his Mac. If a movie is made of his life Tochkin hopes popular actor Zach Galifianakis gets the role. Kellan enjoys cooking and admits he does a mean batch of Pork Stew. After his playing days Tochkin wants to be remembered as a guy who loved to laugh and made others laugh. Kellan may be new to the area but he likes the Westport and Downtown parts of the Kansas City metro.
Check out this new talent and the rest of the Missouri Mavericks when they host the Tulsa Oilers on Monday, December 31st. The puck drops at 7:05p at the Independence Events Center.
Following the game all fans are welcome to stay and skate with the team.
