Meet A Maverick Kellen Jones

A talented first year Maverick who after spending some time in the AHL with Bridgeport, Kellen Jones has returned to Missouri to finish the 2015-16 regular season. The left winger is enjoying his 2nd year as a hockey pro after spending last season with Bakersfield and Oklahoma City in the AHL.

Meet A Maverick Eric Neilson

Throughout the 2015-16 season Missouri Mavericks fans have been learning names of young players who show potential to move up to the AHL and possibly the NHL some day. One newcomer to the team is a veteran who is sharing his experience with his new teammates. 

Right winger Eric Neilson is in his 10th season a pro hockey player and started his career in the ECHL. After 2 seasons Neils as he is called by his teammates went to the AHL.

Meet A Maverick CJ Ludwig

While many Missouri Mavericks fans may debate which Ludwig is better there is no debating that both are talented and have helped the Mavericks to their first place status this season. Defenseman CJ Ludwig, now in his 2nd year as a pro, enjoys playing with his brother Trevor who we featured last week. Luds as he is called by his teammates played last season in the AHL for Oklahoma and Bakersfield.

Meet a Maverick Sebastian Sylvestre


A talented newcomer wearing a uniform number more often seen in football than in hockey is this week's featured Missouri Maverick. Sebastian Sylvestre wears jersey #81 but he doesn't let that get in the way of playing an important part of the Mavericks success so far this season. The 2nd year pro played with the Bakersfield Condors in the 2014-15 season.

Meet A Maverick - #35 - Parker Milner

A 13 game winning streak has put an extra big spotlight on the Missouri Mavericks as they continue to play well in the 2015-16 Season. Just this week the ECHL's Performer of the month, Pat Cullity, and Player of the month, Jesse Root, come from the Mavericks roster. Another player worthy of recognition is Goaltender Parker Milner.

Mavericks Hockey First Head coach returns to Independence

History will be made this weekend as the only 2 head coaches in Missouri Mavericks Hockey history will be working at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Mavericks first head coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Scott Hillman, returns for the first time since leaving for the head coaching job at the Indy Fuel. Hillman spent 5 seasons in Missouri from 2009-14 and each year led the team to a playoff berth. Upon arriving at the Arena for this morning's team skate around Coach Hillman said "It's a Very strange feeling, the bus went to the wrong door and feels like I am in the wrong locker room".  Hillman said there were a lot of emotions and a flood of great memories came back to him as he entered the Arena doors. Upon hitting the ice Coach Hillman was greeted warmly by Mavericks Equipment manager Anton Dvorak, Longtime Mavericks player John Scott-Dickson along with other members of the current front office
