Meet A Maverick: Colin Markison 2015

December 26, 2015

A New Missouri Maverick who is quickly becoming a crowd favorite this season is left winger and Center Colin Markison. Colin has impressed teammates and fans alike by showing his potential during the Mavericks franchise record 14 game winning streak. Marky as he is called by his new teammates left Vermont University in 2014 to enter the professional hockey ranks. Colin's 1st team was the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL a team he hopes to play for once again.

Marky admits he doesn't have a favorite team specifically but he does enjoy following the Flyers and Rangers in the NHL due to their physical play. Colin hails from Princeton, New Jersey where a younger sister along with an older brother and sister root him on from home. So far Marky's favorite hockey memory has been playing in front of the "Great Fans here in Missouri". Growing up Colin enjoyed playing Football and Lacrosse along with hockey. While In 10th grade is when Marky decided to go with Hockey in college and possibly pro. Colin's dad played hockey and he wanted to make him proud. If not in pro hockey today Marky would be doing something in athletics as he likes to stay active and is an energetic person. Colin likes to read while on the Mavs team bus. In fact he admits he is in a good book right now so he indulges when he can. If a movie is ever made of his life he hopes actor Leonard DiCaprio gets the role because he is the "Best actor going right now". Marky does cook, he has 2 specialties starting with a T-Bone steak, london broil style. Marky adds his Tacos are "up there" with restaurant quality. Following his playing days Colin hopes to be remembered as an energetic & fast player who generates offense. Marky likes the Country Club plaza area in Kansas City the most especially now with all the holiday lights.

Check out this talented rookie along with the rest of the Missouri Mavericks when they host the Wichita Thunder on New year's eve.

The Fun on December 31st starts when the puck drops at 7:05p inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
