Fred's Football Forecast: September 22, 2017

Lee's Summit North at Lee's Summit (Friday Night Lights Tour Stop)

A match-up guaranteed to get people around town talking about it. Both teams come in off of wins over Kansas teams last week. LS North is vastly improved this year and showed that by pushing LS West on the road a couple of weeks ago. LS North's speed will make the difference in the outcome in this latest edition to a wonderful rivalry.

Blue Springs at Park Hill (Wild Card Game of the Week)

Just a crazy good match-up here between the #1 team in the state against a powerful record setting offense playing on their home field. The Wildcats came up short a week ago to a team from Arkansas but will find their way back to the victory column this week as they return to playing a Missouri team.

What I REID Into It: September 7, 2017

The NFL loves a good show, and for the past 7 years, have been hosting a great show with their annual kick-off game which is played the Thursday night before the rest of the league plays on Sunday. Normally, this night is reserved for the defending Super Bowl Champions and another team that is expected to challenge the champions in the new season. NFL Fans can expect another good show in 2017 as the defending Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots get their rings and watch a championship banner be unfurled at their stadium. Across the field will be the Kansas City Chiefs, a team thought worthy of dethroning the Patriots this season.

What I REID Into It: September 2, 2017

Headlines, headlines, everywhere you look are headlines. The defending AFC West Division Champions, KC Chiefs, are expected to make a few headlines themselves during the 2017 season.

Making headlines will be easy to do for the current edition of the Chiefs, what with 6 nationally televised games on their schedule. The Chiefs open up at the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots on a Thursday night. Later in October, the Chiefs host TWO Monday night games. In the middle of the pair of Monday night games is a Thursday night road trip to Oakland and a Sunday night at Houston.

Blue Springs South at Lee's Summit North (Friday Night Lights Tour Stop)

Who knew this week 3 match-up would feature a winless Blue Springs South team visiting the Broncos after a stunning upset of Ray Pec last week. The Jaguars have lost to LS West and Rockhurst so far and will now try for victory #1 against a confident Broncos team playing at home. In a high scoring affair BS South will finally pick up their first win of the season.

Royals Rally Against the Top Teams in Major League Baseball

The Kansas City Royals finished up a 6 game home stand this week with AL Central leading Cleveland Indians and NL West contenders Colorado Rockies providing the opposition.

After the Royals won on Sunday to claim just one out of the 3 against the Indians, the Royals began a 3 game interleague series versus the Rockies. The Royals on Tuesday welcomed back all-star catcher Salvador Perez, and he immediately helped the team as they scored a win over Colorado.

 Fred's Football Forecast August 25, 2017

Blue Springs at Lee’s Summit West

A playoff game preview here as both teams started 2017 with impressive road wins a week ago. Blue Springs scored 43 points in a win at Lee's Summit. LS West scored 49 points in a win at Blue Springs South. Blue Springs enjoyed their first visit to the city of Lee's Summit, but not this one as I see the Titans winning a close and entertaining home game.
