Lee’s Summit West Titans and Lee’s Summit North Broncos womens cross country teams will compete in the State Meet on November 6 in Jefferson City.

The Lee’s Summit West Titans took first place at the Class 4 Sectional 4 meet at Longview College on October 30. They finished with a team score of 29 points while the Broncos finished second with a team score of 80 points.

Titans runners who finished and their points were: Chelsey Phoebus 1, Kiersten West 2, Alex Moase 4, Kennadee Williams 10, Karen Brocket 12, Elizabeth Nolke 19 and Johanna Kleinsasser 25.

Bronco runners who finished and their points were: Taylor Hynes 3, Carson Severson 5, Tessa Riley 8, Elizabeth Carpino 30, Hanna Davis 34, Becca Martell 41 and Jesse Dinkins 52.

Points indicate the finishing place of a runner when individual competitors are taken out of the mix. In cross county scoring, only the finishing place of the first 5 runners is counted toward the final team score, and the lowest team score wins. A team is allowed to have 7 runners compete, hoping their 6th and 7th finishers can move others down in the scoring.

The Lee’s Summit Tiger women finished 6th as a team with 138 points. Their finishers and points were: Aubrie Hirsch 6, Delaney Smith 14, Lindsey Martin 36, Audrie Stetzler 40, Ashley Raby 42, Jessica Silvers 43 and Taverie Becker 45. Hirsch and Smith each qualify for State as individuals.

The Class 4 women will race at 9:00am November 6 at the Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City.
