Sean Pearson and Fred Liggett

By Fred Liggett

A  four year letterman for Kansas Basketball between 1993 and 1997, Sean Pearson now calls Lee’s Summit home. Pearson, who recently appeared at the Sports autograph booth during Downtown Days Festival, fondly recalls his days as a KU Jayhawk. While at Kansas he played for Coach Roy Williams and was a member of the 1993 Final Four team. takes his family to one or two KU games a year to show them where he played and in what he calls a tremendous atmosphere.

Pearson keeps up with many KU alumni by appearing at Coach Bill Self’s basketball camps each summer. A couple of teammates with whom he stays in touch with most are Greg Ostertag and Jacque Vaughn. Ostertag resides in Arizona and Vaughn lives in California. Both have completed their professional basketball careers. Pearson stays in shape by playing with his kids and operating a business called Pearson Basketball Basics. Area youth will want to keep an eye out for Pearson’s Camps he conducts throughout the year.
