VFW Post 5789 Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their 4th Annual “Swing for a Cure” Golf Tournament on Sunday April 17, 2011 at Shamrock Hills Golf Course. Registration will be at Noon with a shotgun tee-off at 1:00 PM. The proceeds from this annual event will benefit the Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid and Research Program. This program is a vital part of our organization as it provides cancer grants to our members who have been stricken with cancer. It also provides two $100,000 Post-Doctoral grants for physicians who are working on cancer research. Each year a portion of the money remaining after all grants are paid is donated to a cancer facility in Missouri.
We are still in need of 8 teams for the tournament. For a $70.00 tax deductible donation you will receive the following: 18 holes of golf, 2 golf carts per team of 4, beverages during the tournament, dinner after the tournament and cash prizes. We will also be giving away many great raffle items. If you are not able to golf we are also accepting Hole Sponsors. For a $100.00 donation we will put a sign advertising your business, or a memorial to your friends and family on signs located at the tee boxes. This is also a tax deductible donation.
