Barbara L. Steverson


Barbara L. Steverson, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011, in Cassville Health Care and Rehab, Cassville, Missouri.
   
She was born June 28, 1932, in Jenkins, Missouri, the daughter of Leonard and Nadean (Jordan) Zinn. On November 6, 1950, in Russell, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Jerry Steverson, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her father and step-mother, Leonard and Helen Zinn; her mother and step-father, Nadean and Earl Bradford; two children in infancy and one brother, Jim Bradford.

Surviving are two sons, Danny Gene Steverson and his companion, Edith of Anaheim, California and Leonard Joe Steverson and his wife, Holly of Oswego, Kansas; one daughter,  Sue Ann Steverson and her companion, Mike of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one brother, Eddie Bradford and his wife, Merle of Cassville, Missouri; one sister, Vera Wuellner and her husband, Don of Alton, Illinois; six grandchildren, SPC Bobbi Berglund, Hattie Weaver, Mindi Jones, Emily Brown, PFC Maria Nix and Jacob Steverson; seven great grandchildren, Seth Gann, Luke Jones, Lydia Brown, Chloe Brown, Collin Brown, Christopher Brown and Damian Berglund and many nieces and nephews.
   
Barbara grew up in Barry County, Missouri and graduated from Cassville High School. She was always there for everybody all her life.  She helped care for her grandkids, grandparents, parents and her husband, Jerry.  She enjoyed working in her many flower gardens. Feeding and watching the variety of birds in her yard was another one of her passions. She loved taking pictures during family get togethers and documenting all memorable occasions and events through photos. She was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church.
   
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Brother Bob Neeley and Reverend Paul Yarnall will conduct the services. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville, Missouri.
   
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
   
Contributions may be made to Susan B. Coleman Breast Cancer Awareness or American Cancer Society in memory of Barbara.
