Bryce Michael Rader, 28, of Mission, KS, formerly of Lee’s Summit, MO., died Sunday, July 24, as a result of injuries from an apartment fire that also took the life of his girlfriend, Jessica Theodoroff.
   
Bryce was born March 25, 1983, in Independence, MO. He was the son of Bill and Richelle Rader of Lee’s Summit. Bryce graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 2001 and attended Longview College. He was employed by Strahm Automation and Mailing, Kansas City.
   
Bryce loved ice and roller hockey, the KU Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
   
Bryce is survived by his parents, his brother, Bradley Rader, sister Kaitlin Rader, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Jared Blankenship, nieces Karrigan and Kendall and nephew Karson Blankenship, all of Lee’s Summit. He also is survived by his grandparents, Dorl and Betty Jo Rader of Larned, Kan., as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Richard and Deloris Person of Belton, MO.
   
Bryce was remembered with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Lee’s Summit Christian Church, Missouri 291 and Tudor Road in Lee’s Summit, MO. Private inturnment will follow in the Lee’s Summit Christian Church Columbarium.
   
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Donations can be made at the memorial service, or by mail to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Breast cancer research was an important cause to Bryce, whose mother and grandmother were both breast cancer survivors.
