Daisy Hansford McAlpin
Daisy McAlpin, 105 of Higginsville, MO passed away on Saturday Oct. 8, 2011 at Meyer Care Center. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday Oct.14, 2011 at Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 – 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or John Knox Village East in Higginsville. Burial in the Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Daisy was born June 18, 1906 in Willcockson, Arkansas, now named Marble Falls Arkansas. Daisy and her husband Roderick moved to Lee’s Summit in 1941. She was very active in the Methodist Church where she volunteered. She also volunteered at the Lee’s Summit Hospital. Daisy retired from Unity School of Christianity in 1969. In 1984 she moved to John Knox Village East in Higginsville, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Roderick McAlpin and an infant son Howard Blake McAlpin.
Survivors include her two sons, James E. McAlpin and wife Marceline, Charles D. McAlpin and wife LaRue, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and many cherished friends.
