DALE L. GILLETTE

 July 30, 2011

Dale Louis Gillette, 52, of Lee’s Summit, MO, died peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack on July 25, 2011. Funeral services were 10 a.m., Friday, July 29, at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Koger Cemetery, Grain Valley. Visitation was 6-8 p.m., on Thursday, July 28th, at the funeral home.

Dale was born May 16, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Barney & Birdie Gillette. He was an Eagle Scout and loved to cook and read. Everyone always looked forward to the chocolate pecan pies he made every Thanksgiving and rushed to reserve their piece before they were all gone. His hearty laugh and genuine hug will be missed. Dale’s family enjoyed an annual tradition of trout fishing at Bennett Springs. Dale worked as an electrician at the General Motors Fairfax plant for 32 years. He was a member of the Grandview Church of Christ.

Dale was preceded in death by both parents. His survivors include his wife of 25 years, Melody Gillette; a son, Lucas Gillette; and a daughter, Madeline Gillette, all of the home; one brother, David Gillette, of Lone Jack; one sister, D.K Barr, of Grain Valley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins. (Arrangements: Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO, (816) 847-4441.)
