Dr. Wayne A. Belser

January 2, 2013

Dr. Wayne A. Belser

Born August 24, 1930; Died December 31, 2012

Wayne was a graduate of the Lee’s Summit High School class of 1948.  He served 4 years in the U.S.
Navy as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate aboard the U.S.S. Princeton.

After his discharge from the Navy, he attended Rockhurst College and the UMKC School of Dentistry.

During dental school, he was a member of Xi Psi Phi.  After his graduation from dental school, he opened an office in Lee’s Summit where he practiced general dentistry for 37 years, retiring in 1998.

Wayne was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association and the Greater Kansas City Dental Society.  He also served on the local board of the Selective Service System for several years and was a member of the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce.  In retirement, Wayne loved spending time with his family, going fishing and vacationing on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula J. Belser; a daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Adolph Franzoi, and their 3 children; and son, Steve, and his wife Suzanne, and their 4 children.  Also surviving are a brother, Thomas Robert “Bob” and sister, Martha Reinhardt, and a large extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, the 5th of January at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church or the Lee’s Summit Parks Department Bailey Farm Park.

Paula, Martha, and Bob (families). I am so sorry to read of your loss. I don't think I will ever forget the times that Sandy was at the office and I was her practice patient for dental work. Wayne was so good to us and I know that he got several laughs from watching. He will be missed very much. Prayers and thoughts going out to all of you and the family. Much love coming your way. Betty Kay
