Elsa Lou Cotter, 93, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2017.
A visitation was held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. Funeral services were at 11:00 AM at Langsford Funeral Home.
Elsa was born October 16, 1923 to G.F. and Louera Baker in Holden, Missouri. She graduated from Holden High School in 1941 and attended Graceland College.
In February 1946, she was wed to James Cotter. She worked in civil services for the federal government and retired in 1977. She continued to be active in the community by volunteering at Lee’s Summit Hospital, serving in the local chapters of the AARP and in the Business and Professional Woman’s Association.
Elsa loved to travel, taking yearly trips to Minnesota and Las Vegas. She stayed active with crochet and quilt making. She was a great fan of KU basketball, the KC Royals, and KC Chiefs. She never missed a game and kept a score sheet of all baseball games.
She is survived by her daughter Martha; grandchildren John, Mark, Luanne, and Susan. She leaves behind 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. G.G. will be remembered for her strong will, love, and devotion to family.
