Joy Pamela Johnson

October 22, 2012

Joy Pamela Johnson

Death’s untimely anguish
Love’s labor lost
Unexplainable tragedy, senseless
Peace torn free, moorings cleared
Adrift…rudderless…distant…

A free, loving spirit was taken from us
Without cause, without reason
Questions forever unanswered

Joy Pamela Johnson (neé Childress), mother of Nicholas Dane Dorsey, wife of Mark Alan Johnson, lost her life on October 19th, 2012.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., with funeral services on Wednesday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.  Graveside services 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at  Brasher Cemetery in Jerico Springs, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nick Dorsey Education Fund, c/o Atkinson Funeral Home.

Joy was preceded in death by her brother, AJ, her father, James Phillip and her grandfather, Preston. She is survived by her grandmother Cleola, grandfather Herman, mother Terry, sister Dala, brother Matthew, uncles Paul and Gary, aunt Marci, nieces Ashton and Kelsey, nephews Cody,  David and Logan, great nephew Kelton, and a wealth of friends and family that were touched by her involvement in their lives.

Lover of photography, the stars, poetry and music…you will be sorely missed. To my Pisces lady, safe journey...the music we shared will be as a soundtrack for my life, for all time…

I am a patient where she worked and her name said it all. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word. She was thoughtful and sincere and I will miss seeing her beautiful smiling face. Life won’t be the same without her. I’m praying for peace and comfort for the family and friends she’s left behind.
