Mary Kathryn LaForge "KAY" Beachner

BEACHNER Mary Kathryn LaForge Beachner passed away 1/13/13 at her home. She was born in Greenbush, KS, on August 19, 1927.
In 1945 she married James L. Beachner. For 13 years they farmed their land in Greenbush, then moved to the Kansas City area in 1958, where they raised 8 children. Kay and Jim owned and operated Mobil-Teria Catering from 1958-2008.
She is a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was surrounded by her husband, James of 67 years and her surviving children, spouses and their families: Kathryn Robertson Hofmann (Mark) City of Lee’s Summit Councilmember, Janet Bradley, Lynne Beachner (Gary Johnson), Donna Herrman (Pat), Jamie Beachner, Chris Beachner (Mindy), and Kim Beachner (Elaine).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Constant and Kathryn J. LaForge, one sister and two brothers, eldest son Gary Beachner (Gayle), son-in-law, Tom Bradley, and grandchildren Amy and Amber Robertson.
She leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The Visitation is Wednesday, January 16, from 5-7 p.m., with the Rosary of our Lady following. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 17. Both the Visitation and Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8812 East Gregory Blvd., Raytown, MO.
