Mrs. Betty L. Stanka

Mrs. Betty L. Stanka has been received into the arms of the Lord where she is rejoined with her loving husband, Virgil Ray Stanka.
Betty was born August 8, 1917 in Neosho, Missouri. Betty and Virgil met and married in Southern Missouri, then moved to Kansas City and later Lee’s Summit.
Betty was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kansas City and later of First Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit. Betty and Virgil enjoyed traveling, visiting every state in the United States. After retirement, they wintered in Brownsville, TX. Betty created art through crocheting and painting. A favorite past time of Betty’s was playing cards or bingo with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Stanka and her brother A. Lynn Johnson. Survivors include daughter Marietta Kathryn Welsh; 3 grandchildren Kelly Welsh-Wingate, David Welsh and Marlese Welsh; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service were Monday, Oct. 29 at 11am at Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to Kansas City Hospice.
