Pamela Diane Gabel, 61, Kingsville, Missouri, died March 24, 2011 at her home after bravely fighting several diseases for most of her adult life.
Pam was born February 13, 1949 to John and Dee VanAlst in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Charles Gabel on March 15, 1971. She attended Southeast High School. Pam was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who spent many hours with her family and grandchildren who loved her dearly.
She was a Christian, a member of the Lee’s Summit Christian Women’s Club and the Lee’s Summit Baptist Temple. She worked as a TGY clerk and a nurse’s aide at John Knox Care Center. Pam’s hobbies were cooking, crafts, ceramics, gardening, television shows, cat and dog breeding, and was an immaculate housekeeper.
Survivors are her loving husband and 10 year caregiver, Charles Gabel, Kingsville, Missouri, one son, Kurt Gabel and wife Teresa, Holden, Missouri, four grandchildren: Clyde, Kaitlyn, Mikayla and Sierra, brother John VanAlst II, Battleground, Washington, Stepfather Frank Wendrosky, Kansas City, step-son Chris Gabel and wife Joy, Lee’s Summit, 4 step-grandchildren, Catherine, Cameron, Cadon and Caleigh, 1 step-brother and 3 step-sisters in Oregon.
She was predeceased by her parents, Dee VanAlst Wendrosky and John VanAlst, Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at Ben Cass & Son Funeral Home, 703 S Pine, Holden, Missouri, on Wednesday, March 30. Cremation.
