Randal W Brown Sr

September 26, 2012

Randal W Brown Sr, 62, Lee’s Summit, MO departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior September 24, 2012. Randy was born in Kansas City, MO on February 9, 1950 to LaMonte and Helen Brown. They moved to Lee’s Summit in 1956. Randy graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart, Connie West, in 1969.

Randy worked for Butler Mfg for 14 years before retiring in 1988 when he joined with their son, Randy II, to form Countryside Lawn. Randy and Connie later formed Brown and Brown Realty serving the eastern Jackson County area. At the time of his death he was also working as a Salesman for Randy II’s current company. Countryside Scapes LLC

Randy and Connie lived at Lake Lotawana from 1970, at the time of Randy II’s birth until 1984. During this time Randy served as President, along with several other offices, of the Lake Lotawana Baseball Association. He truly loved teaching baseball to Randy II, as well as all ages within the association. After moving from the lake to their 10 acres, two daughters were added to their family- Cami Elizabeth in 1984 and Cali Elaine in 1987. Randy enjoyed watching Randy II wrestle and later the girls in dance and piano recitals. As his children married and had children, the grandkids became a very important part of his life. Again, he was going to dance and piano recitals, baseball and softball games, and wrestling tournaments. Yearly “back-to-school” outings with the grandkids were enjoyed at various locations with Papa.

Randy was a member of the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church for 30 years. His faith and his family were very important to him.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, La Monte Brown, his father-in-law, Jim West, and sister-in-law, Cindy West Ramey.

Randy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie, his son Randal W Brown II (Tammera), and daughters Cami Reiss (Thomas ‘Tres”), and Cali Oberlechner (Paul) all of Lee’s Summit; Grandchildren Rebekah and Thomas Brown, Tresten, Cadi and Trenten Elijah Reiss, Celine Oberlechner and another baby “O” to be born at the end of the year. Randy is also survived by his mother, Rev. Helen Brown of Lee’s Summit; his mother-in-law, Elaine West and the extended West family, of Lee’s Summit; and a brother Gary Brown (Sharon) and family, of Clarinda, Iowa.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012, 6 – 8 PM at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St., Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012, 11 AM, at the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church, 28901 NE Colbern Rd, Lake Lotawana, MO 64086. Interment will follow at the Lone Jack Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist
