Richard A. Creasman

June 23, 2012

Richard A. Creasman, 63, Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away June 15, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House. A memorial service will be 12 Noon Saturday, June 23, at Summit Woods Baptist Church, 2501 SE Shenandoah Dr., Lee’s Summit, Mo., with visitation from 10 a.m. until Noon. Interment to follow at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House or Summit Woods Baptist Church. Richard was born May 27, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Frank and Lucille Davis Creasman. Rick spent seven years as a produce manager for Kroger and attended two years of community college in Kansas City, Kan. Like his father, Rick developed a passion for cars -- rebuilding them, painting them, driving them, admiring them, and racing them. He built quite a successful 40 year career doing body work and painting cars for many local body shops, most recently R&K Collision in Belton, Mo. In addition, he was very interested in racing and for the last couple of decades he was involved in working in the pit crew and doing cosmetic work on midget racecars and sprint cars. His talents not only extended to cars, he was also very adept at home projects, such as refinishing basements, building decks, and making his yard the best on the block. Rick was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a great dinner table storyteller with a memorable laugh that will be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father and two infant brothers. Richard is survived by his wife, Pamela of 29 years; his mother, Lucille; children, Matt Creasman and wife Natasha of Wichita, Kan., Danielle McDonald and husband David of Lee’s Summit, Tony Link and wife Tonya of Campobello, SC, and Andy Creasman; sister, Cathi Whelan of Cedar Park, Texas; and 11 grandchildren, Chloe, Deacon, Manny, Justus, Colton, Dillon, Breanna, Devon, Aidan, Kayley and Harper.  Arr.: Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Mo., (816) 322-5278.
