Rick A. Boedeker

Rick A. Boedeker, age 55 of Lee’s Summit, passed away Thursday, May 6th, 2010.  He was born in Maryville, MO to Leo and Sarah Ruth Harding Boedeker.  On July 16, 1977, Rick married Karen Elaine Pike. 

He was a Tool and Die Maker for Honeywell FM&T.  He was also a CPR/First Aid Instructor for the American Red Cross; a Haz-Mat Trainer for ICWU and a member of Machinist Union Local 778. 
Rick was very involved as an adult and a boy with the BSA a Hardway-Warrier in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. 

He is preceded in death by his father; Leo and father in-law; Charles Pike.  Survivors include his wife; Karen Boedeker, daughter; Corrie Boedeker and grandson; Quentin Young, son and daughter in-law; Ricky and Mandy Boedeker and soon to be granddaughter, mother; Ruth Boedeker, all of Lee’s Summit, sisters; Judy (Bill) Nance and Deborah Wilkinson of Blue Springs; mother in-law; Rosemary Pike of Grandview, brother in-law; Greg (Judy) Pike of Lee’s Summit.  Extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles’ cousins, nieces, nephews and long time friends.  

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Langsford Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 10:00a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church with burial to follow at Floral Hills East Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.  (Arrangements are with Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd Street, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063, 816-524-3700.)

    I am sorry for your loss. I knew Rick at Honeywell and saw him almost daily in the Model Shop. I was a Tool Maker in the Model Shop.
