$260,000! Is that a lot of money to you?

October 17, 2012

Dear Editor,

$260,000!  Is that a lot of money to you?  Not to Bob Johnson, Dave Mosby, Rob Binney and Alan Gray.  These four members of the Lee's Summit City Council's Budget committee recently voted to throw $260,000 of your tax dollars down the bottomless municipal toilet for funding of a new Lee's Summit slogan. Actually, it's called a "Community Brand Strategy."

Our city spendaholics treat your money like it was city money and not your money!  They were far more humble when they were just candidates blathering about "accountability, responsibility, accessibility" and "giving back to the community."  Now they have contempt for you and your money.

Bob Gough,

I cannot believe Bob Johnson, whom I know to be a conservative, would vote to approve spending $ 260K on such a frivolus expenditure. He and Bob Mosby, Rob Binney and Alan Gray need to be voted out of office. We need fiscal responsible conservative elected officials at all levels of government from main street to Washington DC.

They are doing this crap and my kids have been doing fundraisers for the schools since August? Take that $260,000 and send it to the school district. At least it would be put to good use.
Total waste of Funds! FIRE those councilmen NOW!!!
