High school reunionsÖ.
Wow Ė I canít believe Iíve been out of school for 30 years! Iím old, but Iím not!
Life sure flies by, and before you know it Ė 30 year reunion. I havenít been to any of my reunions. Iíve lived more than 14 hours away for over 25 years. Itís crazy. I havenít seen or even talked to most of the people I went to school with in many years. Facebook has given us a way to connect again, through friends and friends of friends. Itís hard to believe that as you read this, I will be celebrating 30 years of leaving childhood and being an adult. Well, that was true in name only, at least for the first 10 years!
When do we "become an adult"? Is it when we get out of high school? What about when we get our 1st real job? Or when we graduate college? Is it when we have kids of our own? Or maybe we never really match our age in years. Itís probably different for everybody. Growing up and older comes with a lot of responsibility. We have bills to pay, mouths to feed, chores to do, work to perform Ė and the list goes on. "Stuff" happens, thatís what insurance is for, right? But seriously, stuff DOES happen. We move away, make mistakes, achieve great things, find a new place to live, a new life. We fall in and out of love, lose friends, lose loved ones, suffer illness, anger, sorrow and defeat. We survive and thrive through trials. Most importantly, we endure. We go on. We learn and grow through our circumstances. Live and learn, thatís the saying.
How about Be the Blessing? Can you use the lessons learned in your life to help someone else? Iíll bet you can. Make a conscience effort to lend a hand and be someoneís blessing.
