Fourth Quarter~Fellow Americans,

May 5, 2012

Ramsey Fowler

Next week will be my last opinion article. It’s important upon my departure to clarify who I am and exactly why I have chosen to share my thoughts for nine months.

I am a proud American. This is the essence of who I am. I believe we live in the greatest country ever known to mankind and it is always our duty to uphold our Constitution, protect our freedoms and pursue our individual dreams.

America is declining at a rapid pace, which should be alarming to everyone. This is not a Republican versus Democrat struggle; this is a crisis for all Americans.

I don’t dislike Democrats, I dislike continued failure.I am old enough now to understand exactly what is going on in our country, but young enough to believe that there is tremendous hope for a successful overhaul.
Although my articles are listed under the “Opinion” heading, what I speak is the truth.

The Democrats had complete control of the House, Senate and White House for the first two years of Obama’s Presidency.Anything they proposed (Stimulus Package, Dodd-Frank, Obamacare, etc.) was passed so we can now evaluate the outcome.

Last Monday marked Obama’s 986th day in office.During this time, the debt has increased at an average of 4.27 billion dollars per day.If this rate continues until Obama’s term ends on Jan. 20, 2013, this President will have burdened our great country (each and every one of us) with 6.2 trillion dollars of additional federal debt in only four years. This is not the opinion of a teenager, these are numbers given for all of us to examine from The United States Treasury Department. To put this in perspective we can actually start with our first President, George Washington, who was elected in 1789 and add up all the debt accumulated by every single President up through George W. Bush in 2008.All 43 President’s federal debt combined (over 220 years) is less than Obama has incurred in three and a half years. Is that okay with you? Do you know the Democrats have not even bothered to submit a budget in 1,103 days?

President Obama chose Eric Holder for the important position of our United States Attorney General.
On May 3, 2011 when Eric Holder was asked under oath about his knowledge of Fast and Furious, he replied, “I’m not sure about the exact date but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

In October of last year it was reported that Holder was identified in documents to be aware of Fast and Furious twice in 2010.Then in January 2012, another document revealed that Eric Holder was notified of Fast and Furious the day Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered in Arizona.

As of today, Holder refuses to release requested documents so a congressional committee is in the process of preparing a contempt citation against our country’s own Attorney General.

The Obama administration appointed Timothy Geitner to head the Department of Treasury. It was discovered that Geitner himself had not paid $34,000 worth of taxes from 2001-2004.It’s time to clean house.
I imagine most Americans are frustrated with high gas prices and are challenged daily with financial worries.I believe there is something worse than our failing economy and we can all feel it. It’s the slow demise of our nationalism.

When Obama was elected, I believed it was going to be an incredible victory for all Americans.I thought electing our first black president would be a promise to all. It was final proof that skin color is not an issue in our country and all race cards could be destroyed. But sadly, Obama chose not to unify. Instead he has sorted us economically and politically. He has forced us to pick teams. When did we forget we’re all on the same team?

It’s time to for all of us to throw in the towel and cut our losses. This Obama Presidency is not working by any stretch of the imagination and we all know it. Republicans are tired of being on the offense and Democrats are exhausted of defending this losing battle. It’s time to retire this quarterback. America, she deserves a new playbook.

God Bless America!
