I note with amazement a tedious anti-Rebecca Roeber letter on these pages by humorist Gene DeVaux of Greenwood.  Gene advocates killing of babies born and unborn for some Malthusian theory of overpopulation of this nation unless abortion providers save us.  

Planned Parenthood is the biggest abortion provider in this Nation thanks to the millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies. But Gene would have us believe that Planned Parenthood merely “provides prenatal care to insure that women can give birth to healthy children.”  

Gene then provides another knee-slapper asking that Roeber “read books that discuss the various reasons why women need to have abortions.”  Need?  I don’t think so.  Women may want, prefer, wish for, or desire an abortion, but as long as her baby is alive, women very rarely “need” an abortion.
