Boy Scout Troop 54, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lee's Summit, MO, toured the Kansas City Power & Light South Harper Peaking Facility in Peculiar on April 7.

Boys learned about different types of energy to meet requirements toward their Energy merit badge. Plant Superintendent Steven Hilger, who is also Scoutmaster for Troop 54, gave the tour. The boys were able to view the control room and visit other sections of the facility. Part of the visit included an official flag raising of a new American flag at the power plant, which is the customary start to every Boy Scout meeting.
