Cub Scout Pack 54 Announces Advancements

March 8, 2014

The newest Boys Scouts of Troop 54

Cub Scout Pack 54, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lee’s Summit, held its annual Blue and Gold advancement banquet on Feb. 22, 2014. A total of 71 boys and their families watched as each den received rank advancement to the next level. Thirteen boys walked the ceremonial bridge to transition from the Webelos II level of Cub Scouts to new Boy Scouts in Troop 54:

Dylan Alspach, Justin Anderson, Lucas Gentry, Shane Ireland, Charles Licata, Benjamin Manning, Ethan Payne, Reece Perkins, Zach Scott, Samuel Starner, Ashe Thomas, Ashton Trammell, and Payton Willett.

A special plaque of thanks was given to Pamm Collins, the Webelos II den leader for her work with this group of boys for the past several years.

Special thanks were given to the various leaders of the pack, especially Brien Starner who has been the pack’s Cubmaster for the last two years and who has now handed over pack leadership to new Pack 54 Cubmaster Eric Jones.

The event was held in memory of Mike Mertel, the group’s wolf den leader who died unexpectedly on Feb. 12, 2014.
