Daniel S. Rauzi was awarded the Jared C. Pearce Memorial Scholarship during the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation Camp Staff Scholarship Ceremony on July 31, 2011.  Jared Pearce was age 31 when he passed away in August, 2009.  He was the son of Mike and Cindy Pearce and husband to Melanie Thoman Pearce.  Jared taught science, coached football, wrestling and track was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and the Order of the Arrow. Jared camped at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation for 21 years, serving on staff for 17 years. Jared was a Sagamore in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a brotherhood member of OA. He was Wood Badge trained and had served on National Camp School staff for 2 years.  Daniel has camped at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation for 7 years and has been on staff for 4 years under the leadership of Larry Overfield.  Daniel is an Eagle Scout, a Shaman in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and plans to get his degree in Education.  Receiving the Jared C. Pearce Memorial Scholarship is an incredible honor according to Daniel and one that he will always treasure– being able to continue to give back to the younger and weaker and to his community is always on his mind.
