Lee's Summit Boy Scout Troop 220 Honors Eagle Scout Colt Michael Short

Colt Michael Short
On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Troop 220 in Lees Summit, Missouri held an Eagle Court of Honor to recognize seven Eagle Scouts.
Eagle
Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. Becoming an Eagle Scout is not
an easy task. Only a very small percent of Boy Scouts earn the Eagle
Scout rank.
2009 was a busy year for Colt Short. He joined Boy Scout Troop 220 and earned Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class and Star ranks. In 2010 he earned his Life rank. Colt earn his Eagle Scout in August 2012.
To complete Eagle, Colt earned 21 merit badges and served the troop as Quartermaster, Scribe and Librarian. He completed Junior Leader Training and the Mile Swim. In 2011 he went to Northern Tier High Adventure Base.
Colt is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.
Colt’s Eagle Scout service project provided 10 mallard duck nesting boxes for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Colt is the son of Greg and Tamara Short. He is a freshman attending Lee’s Summit North High School where he is a member of Air Force Junior ROTC and Drill Team. He has played baseball for eight years and was on the Principal’s Honor Roll and wrestling team in middle school.
Colt is the owner/operator of Colt’s Lawn Service and works part time for Kansas City Rib Company. His interests include aeronautics, WWII, hiking, canoeing, reading and video games. He is a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and Fusion Youth Group.
Colt plans to attend Rivendell Sanctuary for two years working towards a possible appointment to West Point Military Academy.
