T. William “Willie” Trafton III became a Scout in May of 2012 and worked his way up the ranks of Scouting, completing his Eagle in August of 2016. Along the way he served his Troop multiple times in the roles of Assistant Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader. Willie’s father, Terry William Trafton II, is a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and his grandfather, Terry William Trafton was an Eagle Scout.
Willie partnered with Hope House, a domestic violence shelter in Lee’s Summit for his Eagle Project. He led a group of volunteers to clean, repair, reconstruct and stain four picnic tables and seven benches. The repairs significantly improved the outdoor courtyard and play area for the many women and children who live and receive services at the facility.
Willie is a sophomore at Lee’s Summit West High School where he is in the A+ program. For the past two years, he has played on the school’s football and baseball teams. He also plays on a competitive baseball team, Inside Edge 16U Showcase. In 2007 he was the recipient of Lee’s Summit Baseball Association’s Blue Darter sportsmanship award.
