Rep. Sheila Solon Recognizes Local Girl Scouts For Silver Award

December 8, 2012

State Rep. Sheila Solon, R-Blue Springs, would like to recognize and congratulate Girl Scouts of America members: McKenzie Albers, Carlie Smith, Alyson Hartmann, Carrie Kucharski and Abigail McCubbins on achieving the Silver Award.

“The Silver Award is the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn,” said Solon. “I am proud to recognize these young leaders for helping our community.”

The Girl Scouts of America was founded in 1912 to empower girls and to help teach values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood, confidence, and citizenship. As in the words of founder Juliette Gordon Low “Scouting rises within you and inspires you to put forth your best.”
