The Internal Revenue Service will be holding a direct hiring event for Clerk and Tax Examiner (clerical and administrative positions) to fill more than 300 vacancies available at the Kansas City, MO service center on Wednesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Embassy Suites, Kansas City Int’l Airport, 7640 NW Tiffany Spring Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64153.

The two-day event will be open to the public with registration and applying for pre-qualification through registration on Eventbrite’s exclusive announcement with walk-ins accepted after 12 p.m.

What is a direct hire event?
During the event, IRS hiring officials will make job offers on-the-spot to qualified attendees who applied to the exclusive (nonpublic) announcement prior to the event. Priority consideration will be given to those job seekers that registered and then applied to the exclusive job posting prior to the event.

About the positions
Clerks and Tax Examiners perform a variety of administrative tasks and duties associated with tax administration. These duties will vary based on the position and may include identifying and reviewing forms, preparing inventory reports, reviewing filed material, transcribing taxpayer documents, responding to taxpayer correspondence, resolving account issues, and reviewing tax returns for errors and missing information.

These entry level positions do not require prior tax experience. IRS’s top-notch training programs will teach you everything you need to know to prepare you to be successful in these positions. The hourly pay for these positions starts at $17.21 – $19.26.
