The Lone Jack Historical Society has planned another truly unique, interactive, fun fundraising event for the first three weekends (6-7, 13-14, and 20-21) in November,. For this limited time engagement, gather your friends to step back in time to 1900 in eastern Jackson County.

You step out of your vehicles at the museum and back in time. You need to pick up cash from Seymour Keyes for an auction in Pleasant Hill. Keyes operates the Western Union Telegraph office in Lone Jack, but you don’t know where it is.

You go in this round rock establishment to ask directions. Instead, you and your friends are kidnapped by outlaws bent on revenge and taken across the road to the Cave Hotel turned Western Union office. As you open the door to the telegraph office…you realize what fate awaits you. Unless – you can escape in time.

If you like fried oysters, plan your trip back in time around Lone Jack’s 98th annual Oyster Supper on Saturday, November 6, from 2pm to 7pm., or until supplies run out, at the Lone Jack Civic Center, Hensley Hall, 509 S Bynum Road, 1/2 mile south of US Highway 50 at the Lone Jack exit. In addition to the fried oyster dinners, menu items include brisket dinners and sandwiches, hot dogs and homemade pies. Check out the Lone Jack Civic Club’s Facebook page for more information.
