A.E. “Boots” Mallicoat, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away September 11, 2025.  Boots was born November 15, 1928, in Grandview, Missouri, to Gilmore and Lucy Mallicoat.  Upon graduation from high school, he worked for Jules Borel Company in Kansas City, Missouri in counter sales specializing in watch parts.  In 1951 he was drafted into the United States Army proudly serving during the Korean War.  After being honorably discharged he made his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with his wife Wilma (Faulkenberry).

Upon discharge from military service, Boots continued working for Jules Borel Company  for 45 years.  Upon retirement he and Wilma enjoyed their travels not only in the United States, but also Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Boots and Wilma were longtime members of First Baptist Church, Lee’s Summit, where he served as a deacon and Kindergarten Sunday School teacher where he was fondly known as “Mr. Boots.”

Boots was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wilma, in November of 2010.  He is survived by his sons, David (Linda) Mallicoat of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Kelly (Gayle) Mallicoat of Roeland Park, Kansas; grandsons Aaron Mallicoat, Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Adam Mallicoat, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Garrett Mallicoat, Seattle, Washington; granddaughter Rachel (Brian) Morris, Charleston, South Carolina; great-grandchildren Jude, Cole and Caroline Morris; and sister Patty Kroll, McPherson, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 16th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at the Lone Jack Cemetery in Lone Jack, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Missouri Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
