Charles Michael Dunn passed away peacefully at home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from heart failure. He was born on December 24, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the second son of Robert Alboin Dunn of Freeman, Missouri, and Helen Bernice Dunn (Jenkins) of Richmond, Missouri.
Charles graduated from Raytown High School and spent his entire life in the Kansas City area. He retired from Western Electric after a dedicated career. A lifelong resident of Lee’s Summit, he cherished time with his family and friends and always looked forward to visiting with them. His greatest joy was helping his son-in-law, daughter, and grandson.
He had a deep love for the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed attending garage sales. His faith was an important part of his life; he was saved in 1963 and remained a faithful churchgoer throughout his years.
Charles is survived by his daughter Sarah Anderson and her husband Bruce; his grandson Bruce Anderson; his daughters Tonya Gomez and Sherri Ritter, both of Idaho; his brother Robert W. Dunn; and his sister Jann H. Hill.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 12:00 p.m. at Lee’s Summit Bible Church, 1200 N.E. Colbern Road, Lee’s Summit Mo.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
