Jamar Griddine was born and raised in the Kansas City area and attended Raytown High School and graduated in 2017 from the Herndon Career Center in Culinary Arts where he recently had the chance to do some coaching with students.

“I have an intense passion for food, cooking and baking and for helping others,” Griddine says.

On November 17 he was selected by the National Black Chef’s Association to be the JR Chapter President of Kansas City and the surrounding cities in Missouri.

“I am thrilled to have this honor and through this position I hope to encourage other young people to follow their dreams,” he says.

Griddine has been invited to the annual Chef’s Awards 2020 held by the NBCA in Atlanta, Feb. 21-23 and will be receiving an award during the event. There will be other chefs from all around our country in attendance. He is currently looking for ways that to raise or earn $1,000 from now until the January 5, 2020 registration deadline. That money is to pay for transportation and lodging.

Griddine is raising money by selling holiday items and taking as many orders as he can manage.
