The City of Lee’s Summit is encouraging residents to play an integral role in developing a new community-wide strategic plan by attending one of two identical Community Conversations.

The first Community Conversation will be held Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Pavilion at John Knox Village, 520 NW Murray Rd. The second will be held Feb. 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lee’s Summit High School, 400 SE Blue Pkwy.

The Community Conversations will be interactive discussions, where residents are invited to share concerns, challenges, opportunities and aspirations for the City. Residents will be asked, “What kind of community do you want Lee’s Summit to become?” Register to attend the Feb. 27 Community Conversation:https://lsignite27.eventbrite.com. Register to attend the Feb. 28 Community Conversation:https://lsignite28.eventbrite.com.

“In order to ensure the best decision-making for our City moving forward, we need residents to get involved in the strategic planning process,” said Mayor Bill Baird. “We want to hear multiple viewpoints and understand what our residents value so we can develop a long-term vision that positions the City for continued success.”

Community engagement is a vital component of the strategic plan and the input provided will be key in developing needs, priorities, goals and strategies that will guide the City’s vision for the future.

For residents who cannot attend either of the Community Conversations, input and feedback can be provided online at LSignite.net beginning mid-February. For more information about the Community Conversations, contact Assistant City Manager Nick Edwards at 969-1015.
