Missouri Department of Conservation Conservation Agent – Jackson County

With the Fourth of July upon us, Conservation Agents with the Missouri Department of Conservation want to remind everyone that the use of fireworks is prohibited on conservation areas throughout the state.

Fireworks may be fun to look at, but they can pose other risks, big ones being possible fire hazards, as well as litter when left in parking lots and fields.

Agents still want to encourage everyone to go out and enjoy the many activities the areas have, such as fishing, trail walking, and wildlife observation. We just ask that you be respectful of the area and others who choose to use it. Many Conservation Areas also have times of restricted access unless fishing or hunting, be sure to check on your area’s specific regulations before visiting. If you see violations occurring or other wildlife crimes, you can contact your local agent or Operation Game Thief (OGT) at 1-800-392-1111.
