Derek Parks of Lee’s Summit was among 1,175 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises Dec. 19 and 20 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Parks earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the College of Engineering.

Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett presided over the ceremonies.

The graduates are from 44 countries, 39 U.S. states and 140-plus Nebraska communities.
