As an outreach to the community, First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit is offering a free Christmas dinner to people needing a place for food and fellowship on Christmas Day.
The dinner will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., (or until the food is gone) in the church fellowship hall at 2 NE Douglas Street, near downtown Lee’s Summit. Come in the west entrance off the parking lot.
The meal will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll, and dessert, is prepared by a professional chef, and served by church members.
This has been a tradition since 2002 and last year they served 500+ meals. Meals are also provided to Lee’s Summit police and fire department personnel who are on duty Christmas Day.
