LS West Titans boys wrestling finished first in a two day, 15 team tourney held at LS North over December 13-14.
The LSHS Tigers girls basketball team hosted rival LS West on Monday, Dec. 16. The Tigers lost 59-50. Later in the week the Tigers were scheduled to play their other LSR7 rival in LS North and will be making the trip over to Broncos Fieldhouse for the game.
The Lee’s Summit Tigers boys basketball team participated in the 24th Webster Groves Tourney and won all three games they played. The Tigers opened up with a 74-59 win over CBC. The Tigers would follow that up with a 60-58 win over event host Webster Groves and took the tourney title with a 52-48 victory.
The LS West Titans boys basketball team played just their second home game of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Park Hill Trojans were the opponent inside the Titans Fieldhouse. The Titans scored a 61-50 loss. The Titans, now 1-4, host Blue Springs in their final game before the holiday break.
St. Michael’s girls basketball team gets to play inside the large Hy-Vee Arena in downtown Kansas City. The Guardians next two games will be played there as part of the 12 Courts of Christmas event. The Guardians open against Blue Springs, then later plays Van Buren, Arkansas.
The St. Michael’s wrestling team also will be competing off campus as they find their way to Bartle Hall to participate in the Varsity KC Stampede. Four different states will be represented at the event held in Downtown Kansas City.
The Summit Christian Eagles basketball teams are busy this final week before Christmas break. The Eagles boys and girls basketball teams will host Richmond in a doubleheader in their last games before the break. Before that the Eagles girls played Drexel on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Hy-Vee Arena as part of the 12 Courts of Christmas. The Eagles won easily 56-34.
The LS North Broncos girls basketball team was host to Bolivar to start the week. The Broncos were successful as they took a 71-50 non-conference win. Broncos host Lee’s Summit before starting their Christmas holiday break.
LS West senior goalkeeper Daniel Wozniak was named to the 2024 USA All-America Team. Wozniak earlier was the recipient of Goalkeeper of the Year in Missouri and to the 2024 All-State team.
