Dr. Carpenter would like to issue the following thoughts about a photograph currently spreading on social media.
Statement below:
“As the leader of the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, I care deeply about representing our district and our community responsibly. I am aware of and concerned about an image of me enjoying time with family and friends that has been brought into the public light. It’s unfortunate that this photograph has surfaced. As such, I’m committed to discussing the image with the Board of Education and moving forward,”Dr. Dennis L. Carpenter, Superintendent.

January 27, 2019 - 5:04 pmWhy should he resign over a picture that has no context. Fair play would be to go through Social Media accounts of connected friends of every personnel employed by our School System. Are you prepared to deal with the results you might find? It’s only fair if applied to everyone but since it only seems to apply to Carpenter its a smear campaign with ulterior motives. Let’s look at the cafeteria workers, Art Teachers, ROTC Leadership reps, Band directors, Principals, Math Teachers. No one wants to go down that road. Embarrassing LESS Summit. If there issues with his policies discuss address and offer alternative policies. Not this Internet bullying nonsense that we are trying to teach our kids not to do. No wonder Internet bullying is a thing. Parents are encouraging it.

January 24, 2019 - 7:14 amTHERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HIS PICTURE. I ASHAMED OF OUR COMMUNITY BRINGING IT UP. HE SHOULD NOT BE PRESSURED TO RESIGN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND 95% OF LEE’S SUMMIT AGREES THAT IT IS.
