Blue Springs South at Lee’s Summit North (Friday Night Lights Tour Stop)
Second year coach Matt Klein for Blue Springs South takes his Jaguars to LS North to start 2020. The Broncos have their largest turnout for football in school history with 160 players. The Jags will be better this year but on this night not good enough to overtake the Broncos on their home field.
Lee’s Summit at Oak Park (Jake’s Take)
Look for Lee’s Summit to continue where they left off last season winning 4 out of their final 5 regular season games. I’m taking the Tigers on the road 31-21.
Lee’s Summit West at Park Hill
The Titans were disappointed by their 2019 season and begin on this night to show 2020 will turn out differently. Look for a great coaching battle between veteran LS West Coach Careswell and Park Hill’s Josh Hood. When it’s done the Titans enjoy a return trip home with a Win.
Summit Christian at St. Michael’s
Summit Christian is loaded for another successful season and deep run into the state playoffs. The Eagles have a close road game to begin a new year. St. Michael’s welcomes a new Coach in Andrew Pitts to lead the program. The Guardians have several new players in new roles. In the end its the Eagles who starts the year with a win.
Liberty at Blue Springs
Lots of things are new in Blue Springs on the sidelines but on the field it’s the same old Wildcats. A new coach in David White won’t slow down the Cats attempt to start the year with a win, this time over the Liberty Blue Jays.
Ray-Pec at Rockhurst
The TV game of the week for a reason as Rockhurst while in the spotlight welcomes new head coach Kelly Donahoe to the program. Former Ray Pec coach Tom Kruse will be on the sideline too but as an assistant at Rockhurst. Too bad for Ray Pec they could use Coach Kruse in this one as the Hawklets give Coach Donohoe his first win with the program.
North Kansas City at Raytown
Raytown Blue Jays are ready to march into 2020 with confidence coming off from a successful 2019 post season run that surprised area football followers. Plus a newly renovated stadium to show off puts the confident Blue Jays in place to enjoy a win over the visiting Hornets.
Belton at Raytown South
Raytown South Cardinals begin the season at home and end the first night with a victory over the visiting Pirates. The Cardinals then will be energized to play their rival Raytown next week.
