Gay Francine Tarr, 86, a lifelong resident of Raytown MO, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2020 at Inniswood Village in Westerville, Ohio.
Gay was born October 15, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas to Gerald and Grace (Goodnoe) Maggi. Following her graduation from Rolla Senior High, Class of 1951, she enrolled in the Private Secretary Program at Wichita Business College.
Gay was a member and advocate of Missouri Girls Town, as well as General Federation of Women’s Clubs, Order of the Eastern Star, President of Mothers Council of Boy Scouts of America, the Red Hat Society and a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed bowling, volunteering, RV camping and was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, as well as Missouri Tigers Football and Basketball. She also was a cat lover and dearly appreciated Callie’s companionship.
Gay is survived by her husband, Clarence Michael Tarr Jr.; Sons: Jerry and Diana Tarr of Westerville, OH, John and Janet Tarr of Cuba, MO, Jeff and Cindy Tarr of Emporia, KS. Grandchildren: Jeremy and Alison Jordan, Dusty and Beth Jordan, Magan Tarr, Jessica Tarr, Heather and Yajie Yu, Joshua Tarr; great-grandchildren: Nicole Jordan, Carley Jordan, Andrew Griswold, Beau Jordan, Olivia Jordan. Great Grandsons: Jeffery and Tyler Jordan preceded her in death.
A private service will be held by the family at this time. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Blue Ridge Boulevard UMC, 5055 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
