GEHA (Government Employees Health Association, Inc., pronounced G.E.H.A.) and the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they will again honor public servants and frontline workers each week during the upcoming football season. The Kansas City Chiefs Hometown Hero Award Presented by GEHA, now in its second year, recognizes local Kansas City community members who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others and positively impact the region.

The program brings some of the finest public servants and frontline workers into the spotlight at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium throughout the season. One award recipient will be recognized during each home game.

“GEHA’s member base is built around federal employees and retired military, and we want to take time here to recognize them and frontline workers for what they bring to the community every day,” said Art Nizza, GEHA President and CEO. “Federal employees are integral to the community, and we wanted to find a way to say ‘thank you’ to them for the hard work they do every day. We are asking the community to nominate the person that they feel goes above and beyond so we can show them the recognition they deserve, but rarely receive.”

Members of the community can nominate public servants and frontline workers online from today through Jan. 1, 2023. Previous honorees include firefighters, police officers, retired military members and non-profit founders.
