A trip to south Kansas City over the weekend of November 2nd is required to catch some post-season high school soccer. The Class 4, District 6 tourney is being played at Rockhurst High School where all three Lee’s Summit R7 teams will be. Just down the road at Center High School is the Class 2, District 7 tourney where the top seed is the St. Michael’s Guardians. Further away to the east at Raytown High School is the Class 3, District 7 tourney where Summit Christian is the number two seed.
The Eagles from Summit Christian open up against Raytown South on Saturday, Nov. 2 in a 2 p.m. game. The Eagles,14-5-1, with a win would play a semifinal game at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 against the winner of Raytown/Grandview. The final of the eight-team event is on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. The Guardians have a first round bye in a seven-team district. The Guardians, at 16-4, will begin post-season play on Monday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. The winner of Harrisonville and tourney host Center will advance to play St. Michaels. The title game is set for Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
Lee’s Summit soccer fans can see all three Lee’s Summit teams play in back to back to back games when the eight-team district tourney begins on Saturday, Nov. 2. Up first is number four seed LS North (7-14) who open against Carthage at 11:30 a.m. Then at 1 p.m. it’s number two seed LS West (14-6) vs Ray-Pec followed by number three seed Lee’s Summit (9-8) taking on Joplin. Semifinal games are set for Tuesday, Nov. 5 with the district final game to be played on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. All games are played at Dasta Stadium at Rockhurst High School.
