With the end of September rapidly approaching it means the 2024 high school boys soccer season has hit its midway point. All area teams will play in district tournaments after the regular season ends around October 29th. For Lee’s Summit teams the season has brought a wide range of success so far. Thanks to some tournaments to begin the season the teams are just now playing rivals and conference games adding meaning to the results.

The Lee’s Summit Tigers are now 2-4 following a 2-0 home win over Ray-Pec on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Tigers got two first half goals Dorian Diaz and then used a stingy defensive effort to record the shutout win. In goal for the Tigers in the first half was junior Aidan Smith and the second half saw Junior Robby Schleichardt in goal. Up next the Tigers host Rockhurst as part of a busy week for the team. Local soccer fans may want to stay close to the home of the Tigers as they will host nearby rivals over the final month of the season. Coming up first on Thursday, Oct. 3 will be St. Michaels, then the Tigers host LS North Broncos on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and LS West on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The LS North Broncos won 4-1 over Liberty North on Tuesday in a home game that saw four different players score. The win gives the Broncos a 4-6 mark on the season. Up next for the Broncos is a road trip to Blue Springs South to end the week. The LS West Titans fell 1-0 to Park Hill South at home. The Titans record is now 3- 5 on the season. The Titans will be at Liberty North for their next game.

Summit Christian Academy Eagles are 7-1 so far on the season. The Eagles up next have a key road game at Warrensburg a fellow district opponent. The result may impact district tourney seeding which is a month away. The St. Michael’s Guardians are a perfect 8-0 on the season following a 2-0 win over Sedalia Smith Cotton in a game played at Paragon Star on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Guardians have recorded seven shutouts so far this season which includes a 2-0 weekend down in Springfield, MO at the annual Catholic schools showcase.
