Getting a lot of attention for his work on the ice is nothing new for Kansas City Mavericks veteran Bryce Aneloski. Now in his fifth pro season and third with the Mavericks Bryce wears an A on his jersey indicating his status as an alternate captain for the Mavs.
Ano as his teammates call him played 35 games in the AHL for the Bakersfield Condors in the 2016-17 season. This experience allows Bryce an opportunity to share what it’s like at the next level with current Mavericks players. Aneloski says “the guys look up to me as I have played at the AHL level and I like to help the guys.” Regarding the Mavericks change in affiliation from the NY Islanders to the current Calgary Flames Bryce simply states, “Doesn’t impact me much, still have a job to do.”
Aneloski’s favorite area of Kansas City is the suburb of Fairway, KS where he resides with his wife Becca.
Bryce admits to completing an NCAA bracket this past March and his last team left in the tourney, Duke, made it to the Elite 8 round.
When asked about the state of the NHL this season Bryce says he enjoys seeing the success this year of the expansion Vegas Golden Knights who have already clinched a playoff berth. Aneloski says, “they play with a Chip on their shoulder.”
Aneloski and the rest of the KC Mavericks are playing in Utah this weekend to finish their regular season. The Mavericks and Grizzlies will play twice to complete the 72-game ECHL 2017-18 campaign. Going into the pair of games the Mavericks have a 34-31-3 record and sit in sixth place of the Central Division.
