Faashid Brown, Jackson County Sheriff PIO

As the new Public Information Officer (P.I.O.) for the Jackson County, MO Sheriff’s’Office, I’d like to take the time to introduce myself to you.

I’m a native of Kansas City, MO. I started my career in 2009 as a Deputy with Jackson County, MO Sheriff’s Office. During my initial 4 year tenure, I worked patrol for three years on and I spent one year in the D.W.I. traffic safety unit. In 2013, I relocated to Dallas, Texas to join the Dallas Police Department.

While in Dallas, I spent three years in patrol and in 2016, I became a part of a specialized group within D.P.D. called “Neighborhood Police Officers” (N.P.O.). As an N.P.O. I was primarily responsible for serving as a community liaison between the Dallas Police Department and the community. My duties included: assisting in starting community Crime Watch groups, attending Crime Watch and Homeowner’s Association meetings, participating in community events and functions, assisting in the resolution of community concerns and conducting special projects and operations.

I’m excited about bringing my training and experience from Dallas Texas back to my hometown! I look forward to building a positive and supportive relationship with you and impacting the community through consistent community engagement efforts.
